The 6' 0", 205 pound defender out of Samuel W. Wolfson in Jacksonville
(FL) received his third BCS scholarship offer this past week.
"Iowa State offered me recently," added Eric Watts. "Illinois, Ole Miss, and
Iowa State, those are the three offers I have now. But I should be rolling in
some more in the next couple of weeks. My coach just sent out some film to some
schools. They are going to evaluate it and get to me. I have spoken to South Carolina
and MTSU about it recently. Their position coach said it was just a matter of
time (before I get an offer)."
Who is Eric staying in touch with this
summer?
"I am still undecided. I pretty much keep up
with everyone that is recruiting me like Iowa State, Ole Miss, Illinois, South
Carolina, North Dakota, West Virginia, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Indiana, Clemson,
and Georgia Tech. They all keep in contact."
Which colleges has Watts
been in phone contact with this summer?
"I have spoken with Coaches
Dan Dish (Illinois), Chris Vaughn (Ole Miss), Gallaway (West Virginia), Verlin
(Virginia Tech), and Tim (Miami)."
Which coach's stand out?
"So
far, Illinois, Ole Miss, and South Carolina do."
What does Scout.com's
#75 nationally rated SLB like about each coach?
"Coach Dish (ILL)
is just a straight forward guy. He does not tell you just want you want to hear.
He tells you like it is. Coach Dish does not beat around the bush."
"Coach
Vaughn (OM)is a real cool guy. He sort of reminds me of Coach Dish. He tells you
like it is, not what you want to hear. He likes my character and attitude. I have
gotten to know him pretty well."
"Coach Spurrier JR (South Carolina)
is very honest. He will not tell you any lies. Coach Spurrier is making me more
interested in South Carolina. He is one of those real funny guys, always has you
laughing."
Any camps this summer?
"I got side tracked
this summer because we have a new head coach. I have had to spend my summer getting
into the flow of things, but hopefully I can make it to a few instate camps before
it is over"
Time frame on a decision?
"I am looking forward
to making it before signing day and enroll in December so I can get a jump on
the incoming freshmen. By the end of my season, I should know."
