With Division I players on his team last year in Nick Moody (Florida State), Jewhan Edwards (Minnesota) and Chris Johnson (Villanova), Kasseim Everett had a little bit of trouble getting noticed as a junior by anyone else than local press and Scout.com, however his stock is rising going into his senior year and he hopes his hard work this summer pays off with more scholarships.

Roman Catholic High School athlete Kasseim Everett picked up his second offer recently from Delaware, adding to one he received from Northeastern earlier in the year. If Everett performs the way he has been at combines and camps in the offseason however, the 5-foot-11, 175-pound cornerback may have more interested schools coming by North Broad Street in Philadelphia.

“Delaware asked me to come to camp and I wasn’t planning on going, but I went down there anyway and ended up getting an offer from them,” Everett said. “I didn’t not want to go, I just hadn’t planned on it. When I was there they really liked my athleticism and worked me out at cornerback, running back, wide receiver, punt returner and kick returner and ultimately offered as a corner that could do any of those five things in the future. The coaches there treated me really well and I know I would get a great education there.”

Everett is certainly a player that could blossom under the spotlight as a senior and has been hearing from schools like Temple, Syracuse, Connecticut, Akron and Illinois State lately.

“A lot of schools have told me that my first two or three games will be very important to them. I have worked my butt off this summer to get stronger and faster and can’t wait to show that on the field. I’ve gotten my forty-time down already, have gotten stronger and am looking forward to the challenge.

As a junior, Everett made 32 tackles, broke up 41 passes, had one interception, one sack, three tackles for loss and a fumble recovery. He returned nine kicks for 280 yards and two punts for 81 yards. He shared the ball on offense where he racked up 210 yards on 35 carries and also had two catches for 85 yards.
