Mike Scott has a ton of athletic ability, however he has been overshadowed by other players at his position like Daryl Robinson at North Catholic over the past couple of years. This year will be a bit different as a new offensive coordinator comes into the program and Scott gave us a brief update on his situation.

Mike Scott, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound wide receiver from North Catholic High School in Philadelphia, Pa., is still hearing from the same programs he was six years ago and is counting on a strong senior season to earn some offers.

“To tell you the truth recruiting has been quiet,” Smith explained. “I think I’m going to wait until after this season to go out and visit schools because I want to be able to show them what I did as a senior. Until now we’ve always been a heavy running team, but we got a new coordinator and have implemented a spread offense, so I should be getting the ball a lot more.”

“I still get letters from Pittsburgh, Purdue and Temple consistently, but interest from West Virginia has dwindled a bit. I like all of those schools and am completely open, so I’m not worrying about that stuff at this point.”

Scott had 25 catches for 295 yards and five touchdowns as a junior. He also had over 150 return yards and added 42 tackles, three interceptions and a fumble return for touchdown on the defensive side of the ball. He was voted second-team All-League for both his sophomore and junior year.
