Last year when Dino Mancinelli lined up under center for Cheshire Academy he was minus a huge weapon he’ll have this year in four-star wide receiver Joshua Adams. This year could prove to be a huge one statistically for the junior who led his league in passing in 2007.

Dino Mancinelli, a 6-foot, 185-pound signal caller from Cheshire Academy in Cheshire, Conn., led his Colonial League in passing as a sophomore, throwing for 1517 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions with a 63-percent completion percentage in only eight games. Those performances have led to early interest for the quarterback.

Rutgers just sent me a letter and want me to visit for the Fresno State game that opens up the season,” Mancinelli explained. “I have to call them so I can talk to someone on the coaching staff as I haven’t yet. I like that they’re pretty close to home and have a good a passing game.”

“Head Coach Randy Edsall from Connecticut came by my school and talked to me for a while,” Mancinelli stated. “I like him a lot and like that Storrs is very close to home for me. They’re rebuilding the program right now and have been pretty successful.”

“As far as Temple and Syracuse, I had coaches stop by from both schools. I don’t know much about either school at this point.”

He was named first-team All-Colonial League at quarterback as a sophomore.
