Zach Stacy, Scout.com two-star running back from Centreville-Bibb County, (Ala.), committed to Vanderbilt over an offer from UAB. He received interest from Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss and Mississippi State as well. Stacy talked about the decision to commit to the Commodores and the possibility of early enrollment.

"I told schools I was going to make my decision before the summer was over. My plan is to graduate in December, and I wanted to have my decision behind me," Zach Stacy said.

"I took a visit up there, and they showed me around the campus. It was just one of those feelings where I felt at home. I fell in love with the program. That is where I wanted to go."

"The coaches told me I could get early playing time. That was really a big factor in my decision. I would like to get playing time before my junior year. The fact I am going up there early, there is a good chance of that happening."

Stacy talked about the relationships built with the Vanderbilt coaching staff.

“My recruiting coach was coach [Charlie] Fisher. He is a real good guy. He came down here. He let me know to come to the camp. I have a real good relationship with him," Stacy said.

"Coach [Des] Kitchings and I also talk. I got a lot of info from him. I haven’t really gotten a chance to talk to coach [Bobby] Johnson. He seems like a coach who knows what he is doing. I am real excited to be one of his players.”

Vanderbilt has picked a sleeper running back out of Alabama, but Stacy may consider other visits.

"It's really a big relief to have my decision over with," he said. "Even though it’s a real early decision it was a hard decision. I talked it over with my family and high school coaches. Picking a college is a hard decision. In the long run hard work pays off.”

“I had an offer from UAB as well. As of right now I am probably just going to visit Vanderbilt. I am going to attend most of their home games. If a different college offers me I may think about it. It’s one of those things you will have to think about it, but I feel at home at Vanderbilt.”

Stacy talked about strengths and what he has been working to improve.

“I am 5-foot-8, 190-pounds,"he said. "My main strength is being really elusive. I have good acceleration between the tackles, and I am big threat in the open space. I have really been basically working on speed. I have adequate speed for a high school player. I don’t have that break away speed. I have been working on that.”
