Noxubee County came out of the gate strong during the early stages of the '08 season as they have outscored their two opponents by a measly 94-0.
"We
have done pretty well," added their star receiver and safety, Vincent Sanders.
"We beat Columbus 53-0 and then we beat Greenville Wesson 41-0. In the first
game, I did not play in the second half because I had a migraine headache. I had
a couple of catches and an interception in the first half."
Vincent
starts at both receiver and safety. Which position is best suited for his talents?
"I
think both of them, really. It is really hard or me to say because I like both
of them. On offense, I am an athlete who can beat the defender and get open, catch
the ball, and make a big play. On defense, I like being able to change the game.
The offense can get into a rhythm, and then you can make an interception and change
the whole game. I also like to make the big hit. That is a lot of fun."
Sanders
received a scholarship offer from Ole Miss after attending their passing camp
this summer. He had a chance to take in an unofficial visit to see them play Memphis.
"I
really enjoyed it. I like the atmosphere over there and how they pass the ball
a lot. They brought in the Arkansas offense, where you use the "Wild Set"
a lot. That would be a lot of fun to play in."
What new did Vincent
learn about Ole Miss during the trip that maybe he did not know from before?
"I
pretty much have seen all of their facilities and stuff like that. I learned more
about their style of play this time. I did not know they were that good. I was
sitting right behind their bench during the game, and I could see it in their
eyes. They want to win at Ole Miss."
What stood out the most during
the trip?
"I was real impressed with (Jevan) Snead. That being his
first game and not making any mistakes. I also liked their receivers and the routes
they ran. The atmosphere was nice too. I just like how they treat you."
Who
else is the junior hearing from?
"I have spoken with Coach Saban at
Alabama. I have spoken with the defensive coordinator at Florida State this summer
too. UAB invited me to their game Saturday, but I did not get a chance to make
it. I also went to the MSU game last Saturday when they played S' East LA."
The
MSU Bulldogs also look to be serious with 6' 2 1/2", 175 pound athlete.
"MSU
told one of my coaches they were going to offer me, but I guess they have not
gotten around to mailing it, because I still do not have it."
What
stood out the most about the Bulldogs during his visit?
"It is not
that far of a drive from my house, and I like how their players competed too.
They were coming after a tough loss to Louisiana Tech, but they came out with
a lot of fire."
Has Vincent given any thought on a time frame for
a commitment?
"I have put a lot of thought into committing early.
I want to commit now and learn the system, but then again, I want to wait until
my senior year. I keep going back and forth on it."
