Marcus McNeal begin to turn heads last year. After catching 30 passes for 744 yards for 6 touchdowns, the talented Floridian began to see the offers roll in.

Part of making a good decision in the recruiting world is knowing exactly what you want. Marcus McNeal knows what he wants when is comes to choosing a school.

"I'm looking to play early," stated Marcus McNeal. "I'm also looking for a school with a high graduation rate and a good accounting department. Academics are important to me. I took the ACT last Saturday and I'm waiting on the results."

What schools fit those qualifications?

"I like Iowa State, Nebraska, Louisville, West Virginia, Ole Miss and Florida. All of those schools have offered except Florida. I think they are close. I'm talking to a lot of coaches right now. All of those schools have called me since September 1st."

What are the coaches of each of these schools telling the Florida athlete?

"Iowa State wants me to be a major part of their offense. They want me to help them turn things around. They want me to help them win the Big 12. Nebraska says the same thing. They tell me I am their top player on their board. I can play as a freshman there. Louisville wants my transcripts so we can set up a visit. Lately we've just talked about paper work. I like the coaches at Ole Miss and West Virginia. They need a WR that can spread the field and they want me to be that guy. The last time I ran the forty, I ran a 4.32."

What position are each of these schools recruiting McNeal to play?

"Everyone is recruiting me to play WR but you know how it is. Things can change when you get down there but I'm ok with that. I prefer WR but I have played in the secondary earlier in my high school career."

Are any visits in the future for the Lakewood Ranch standout?

"I haven't set up anything yet. I really haven't even thought about visits. After the season is over, I'll get in to it."

Lakewood Ranch has had a difficult first two games.

"We are 0-2 right now. We've had our ups and downs but we can get turn it around."
