Joe Tiller picked up a verbal commitment from one of the biggest sleepers in the Big Ten region. Eugene Bright could contribute immediately for the Boilers.
Eugene Bright, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound, athlete from Bryn Mawr (Pa.) Harriton has given Purdue his verbal commitment.
Harriton head coach says that his prized athlete could be one of the best football players in the Keystone State.
“Not to many recruiters came by during the spring,” said laughing. “We’re a small school and before I got here they (Harriton) hadn’t won a game.
“Eugene is a four-year starter that played wide receiver, tight end, quarterback, running back, linebacker and defensive back for us in his career.
“The Purdue coaches said they’ll have him slotted as either a linebacker or safety, maybe even as a wide receiver.
“Eugene is a very intense football player that has the burning desire to play the game and be successful. Purdue is getting a competitor and a great young man.”
Bright may come from a small school but he’s a big time talent. He’s in the same class as (Pittsburgh) Woodland Hills wide receiver, defensive back Ryan Mundy.
Minnesota, Michigan and Connecticut were showing interest in Bright before he made his verbal commitment.
The Boilermaker coaches are great at discovering and molding raw, talented, high school football talent and the future is definitely BRIGHT for Eugene!
