Westlake Village quarterback Nick Owens could not find the right spot for himself coming out as a member of the 2008 class. The talented quarterback elected to attend Fork Union Military Academy this season in hopes of attracting other offers as member of the class of 2009. It appears that decision was a good one.

"Marshall offered," wrote Owens. "I talked to Coach Ratliff last night (Thursday) and and he said that they really need someone who can come in during the spring and pick up the offense. He said they were going to bring in two QB for this class."

The Herd joins Houston, Middle Tennessee and Western Carolina as schools with an offer on the table.

Nick hopes that number continues to grow as his season moves along.

"I'm glad that I am starting to get recognized a little more through my film," noted Owens. "There are supposed to be about 14 schools coming to our game this upcoming Monday against Kentucky, so hopefully I will continue to play well and get more opportunities."
