Alex Mascarenas, the 5-11, 185-pound athlete from Mission Viejo (Calif.) High, committed to UCLA back in the spring and this fall has been a big part of the Diablos 9-1 season, playing both receiver and defensive back. Scout was at the Diablos game against Tesoro earlier this season, where Mascarenas had a touchdown reception. "Mascarenas had a very good game for Mission Viejo including the touchdown catch referenced earlier, and he was also a standout on special teams and defense. Mascarenas shows a nice change of direction whether he is in coverage or has the ball in his hands. He has good instincts and a nose for the ball," said Scott Kennedy, Scout's Director of Scouting.
