The 6' 0", 225 pound Gulf Coast CC linebacker sat out this year to save a year of eligibility. The good news is that not only will Freeman graduate in December; he will get out with honors.

"That was a big thing for my family," added the matter of fact Eltoro Freeman. "I didn't want to just earn my degree from here, I wanted to get our with honors, and I am graduating next week on the honor roll."

That is the not the only good news for the former Benjamin Russell (AL) standout.

"I am going to enroll at Auburn in January. I spoke with Coach Willis, and he said they are sending me my letter of intent to my home address. I will sign it, then I will come back home, and we will Fed Ex it back on December 17th."

Some might be surprised that a player would sign with a school without a coaching staff in place, but Freeman felt like he committed to the school, not the staff.

"When I signed with Auburn out of high school, I liked their school. Coach Tub was a major role in my decision, but I signed to play for Auburn University, not Coach Tub or Willis. As far as the new coach, I play on the defensive side of the ball, so who ever they hire is not going to make a major impact with my position one way or the other. If I were a QB or a RB, yea, I would want to see who they hired first. I would need to know if they were going to throw or run the ball. But the new coach is not going to impact my role. Besides, Coach Willis told me that the new coach is keeping him, and he is my position coach (LB), so I am in good hands anyway."
