Jersey City, N.J., product Jason Hendricks has flown under the recruiting radar a bit this year and as signing day approaches the defensive back is reporting seven written scholarship offers from around the country. At this point he claims to have no favorites, but he did speak about two of the programs specifically with Scout.com on Thursday evening.
Jason Hendricks, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound athlete from Hudson Catholic Regional High School could end up playing cornerback or safety in college and will have more than a handful of options when the time comes to decide on his future.
“Right now I have offers from Pittsburgh, Temple, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Akron, James Madison and Hofstra,” Hendricks explained. “We just lost in the state championship game to Holy Cross by a late touchdown last weekend, so I haven’t focused much on recruiting, but I’ll be doing that now obviously.”
“I have an official visit to Temple scheduled for this weekend,” Hendricks mentioned. “I was down there in the summer and thought the campus was nice. They were building a lot of new things there and I like Philly a lot. The coaching staff was very nice and respectful toward me and I see them as an up and coming program where I could earn some early playing time and help them.”
“I spoke to the coaches at Pittsburgh earlier this week, but I still haven’t scheduled an official visit there,” Hendricks said. “They are a very good program and have some great athletes out there that are young. I’d really like to learn more about their coaching style at this point.”
