Philadelphia, Pa., native Kadeem Custis was scheduled for an official visit to West Virginia this past weekend, however that visit didn’t seem to do much to sway his decision in the end as he committed to Temple University on Wednesday according to his coach.

Head Coach Al Golden and his Temple coaching staff worked their magic again this season and kept one of the top prospects in Philadelphia at home on North Broad Street when three-star offensive lineman Kadeem Custis gave the Owls his verbal commitment this weekend. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound lineman also had offers from West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Duke and North Carolina State to name a few.

Neumann-Goretti Head Coach Bill Sytsma commented on why Custis chose the hometown Owls.

"Al Golden," Sytsma said, simply. "He spent a lot of time with Kadeem, and he really believed in him. That's the guy. Al Golden and [assistant] Paul Williams sold Kadeem on the program."
