Wayne Carter has played both defensive tackle and offensive guard for Timber Creek Regional High School over the years, however the big man is being recruiting on the offensive line by colleges at this point. This summer he attended two camps and is now getting mail from about ten programs.
Erial, N.J., native Wayne Carter measures in at 6-foot-2, 305 pounds and graded out at a high level as a junior for Timber Creek Regional High School this past season according to his head coach Rob Hinson. Right now he is attracting interest from all over the country and the camp season will most likely determine how many of those schools actually offer.
“I camped at Rutgers and Villanova this summer,” Carter stated. “I have been hearing a lot from Alabama, Boston College, Connecticut, Michigan, Rutgers, Tennessee, Temple, UCLA and West Virginia so far.”
“I went to Rutgers for their home opener against Fresno State and it was a really nice experience for me to just take in the atmosphere of game day there,” Carter explained. “I like the coaching staff a lot and am really impressed with how Head Coach Greg Schiano controls the team and has also been building the program up from where it was for years.”
“Boston College and Connecticut are two schools that I like early. I watch both of those teams on television a lot and just like how their offenses are run.”
Carter says that one of the biggest things he’ll be looking for is how much of an opportunity he will have to play at a school.
