Nazareth Area High School wasn’t very prolific in the passing game last season, so wide receiver Dan Wilk had to find other ways to make his presence felt on the football field. He turned out to be absolutely electric on special teams and also put up some great defensive numbers at cornerback.
Nazareth, Pa., athlete Dan Wilk has been receiving letters of interest from West Virginia, Syracuse, Maryland, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Purdue, Connecticut and Rutgers, however the two schools showing the most interest in the 5-foot-11, 170-pound wide receiver are Temple and Pennsylvania.
“Head Coach (Al) Golden pulled me out of class up here one day and introduced himself to me,” Wilk said. “He just told me that they had me on their radar and wanted me to camp there this summer. I went for camp there last summer and ran really well, so I’m going to go back. I thought it was nice there and I got a good feel for things at Temple.”
“Penn’s head coach also came to see me at school as well and I’m going down to Philly to visit them on April 5th.”
Wilk was named third-team All-Area as an athlete last season after returning three kickoffs and one punt return for touchdowns. He also had two receiving touchdowns, 21 tackles and seven interceptions, one of which he took to the house.
