Ohio quarterback shows why he’s one of the top quarterback prospects not only in Ohio, but in the country with his performance at the Cincinnati Scout.com Combine.

If you asked the recruiting team of Scout.com to name the player they will remember most from the Cincinnati stop of the Scout.com combine you’ll hear the name Patrick Coyne.

Coyne, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound Class of 2011 quarterback from Hamilton (Ohio) Stephen T. Badin High School left a lasting impression with his mechanics as well as the tight spiral and velocity of his throws.

The sophomore quarterback first came onto the scene last summer during a 7-on-7 event at Miami University despite having not played a game at the varsity level. On Sunday he left Cincinnati (Ohio) Princeton High School with raving marks from quarterbacks coach Badre Bardawil and the Scout.com recruiting team.

How good was Coyne’s performance? He was in the running for the overall combine MVP honors with Devin Gardner when the day was over.

With the most impressive group of quarterbacks ever for the Ohio stop of the combine, Coyne went toe-to-toe with older quarterbacks already holding offers and proved to be a name those who follow recruiting need to remember.

For his performance Patrick Coyne has earned the Scout.com overall Underclassman MVP for the Cincinnati combine of 2009.
