As viewers got to see in the East vs. West Pennsylvania game this past week, the Philadelphia Catholic League produces a lot of talent as well, even if it’s not as much as the Pittsburgh area. O’Hara linebacker Mike Huf is one of the best in Philly and he has an offer from Akron and is hearing from many others.
Mike Huf, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound linebacker from Cardinal O’Hara High School is holding an Akron offer and has been in touch with others such as Boston College, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Villanova and Virginia.
Huf already has excellent size and while he doesn’t have elite speed, he flies to the ball carrier and has a great nose for the ball. He is a bit upright on the field, but understands zone coverage and excels at it. Huf is extremely aggressive, makes plays and is strong enough to play at the line of scrimmage and shed blockers. He is a fiery, active linebacker that could play MIKE or SAM linebacker depending on the scheme. You can watch Huf below, but make sure to turn your speakers down a bit as the audio on the film is pretty loud.
