Ryan Laughlin played quarterback as a freshman and for a bit as a sophomore for Cardinal O’Hara before Tom Savage took over the starting role and since then, he’s been starring at safety. Laughlin will enter his senior year with some big shoes to fill, but people who have seen him play think he’ll fill the void very well.

Springfield, Pa., signal caller Ryan Laughlin will be behind center for his junior season leading the prestigious Cardinal O’Hara Lions and has already drawn interest from major programs.

“I camped at North Carolina, Virginia, Louisville and Pittsburgh camps this summer,” Laughlin said. “I’ve been getting interest from those schools and others like UCLA, Notre Dame, Syracuse and some other programs.”

“North Carolina went really well,” Laughlin said. “There were a lot of great quarterbacks there and I think I did pretty well. I loved the entire campus and experience. The coaches were very experienced and were great guys. I thought their offensive coordinator was very interested.”

“My camp at Virginia went well too,” Laughlin added. “Coach Price took me and my family around campus after the camp and it was really nice. They treated me like part of the family, so that’s definitely what I liked about it the most.”

“I liked Pittsburgh camp too and I got to talk to my recruiter Coach Brian Angelichio and he seemed to be very interested, so that made me feel good. He’s a cool guy and said he’d be keeping an eye on me, so we’ll see what happens there.”

Laughlin does have some schools he grew up liking.

“I’ve always been interested in schools like Georgia, Florida State and Notre Dame, Laughlin explained. “I’ve just always followed those programs and liked them a lot, so I’m definitely interested in them.”
