Bishop Sankey is already lining himself up to be one of the top running back prospects for the class of 2011, but the 5-foot-11, 190-pounder from Gonzaga Prep in Spokane, Wash. has his sights set even higher. Sankey, who has roots in the Midwest, went back there for a couple of camps recently, and both Notre Dame and Ohio State are paying attention.

"Bishop went on 30 June 2009 to the Notre Dame Football camp," his father Chris told Scout.com via email. "Bishop had a really good camp. RB Coach Tony Alford said, he was very impressed and that Bishop impressed him. He said Bishop was the real deal and he liked him a lot . We were giving a tour around the stadium football facilities and all around the school. Bishop was excited and very impressed with the campus as I and his grandfather from Alabama was there. We was showed a lot of love, felt a lot of love from the camp and atmosphere."

Both Alford and new Defensive Line Coach Randy Hart have experience coaching at the University of Washington, and Alford told the Sankeys that he would be out to Spokane to watch a GP game this fall.

"If an offer comes from going to the camp that would be exciting and worth it," Chris added. Bishop already has one verbal offer, from Washington State.

"Bishop went to the Ohio State Camp on the 26th of June as well," Chris said. "Bishop, I feel, did really well and held his own. We were not sure how Ohio State felt, due to the amount of people at the one-day camp - close to 800 - and at least 100 to 150 running backs. Notre Dame had nowhere close to those numbers."

While the Sankeys aren't too sure how the Buckeyes feel about Bishop, they certainly felt a lot of love from other coaches that happened to be part of Ohio State's camp staff.

Some of the RB coaches wanted to offer on the spot," Chris said. "However due to regulations they could not offer right there at camp. The Bowling Green RB Coach and Head Coach wanted to offer on the spot. Also, the Ohio University Head and assistant coach were very interested in getting him down to their camp."

The elder Sankey added that coaches from Akron, Kent State, Toledo and Youngstown State were all in attendance and were aware of Bishop.
