The Mid Cities area, so named because it sits between Dallas and Fort Worth, has long been a fertile area for high school football. As Dallas and Fort Worth grew together and industry and houses sprang up around the DFW airport, more and more people moved to communities like Irving, Grand Prairie, Arlington, Colleyville, Euless, and in later years farther north like Grapevine and Southlake Carroll.
