The La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat running back, Dionza Blue, got some good news over the weekend..…
Dionza Not 'Blue' About the Buffaloes
The saying, "it's not what you know, it's who you know" even applies to recruiting. Dionza Blue, the running back/safety from Bishop Amat High School (La Puente, Calif.) has been looking into a few West Coast schools, but one in particular stands out. "I'm really happy to hear from Colorado. Coach Bieniemy is a good coach, he came from Bishop Amat so I'm really happy to hear from him. I'm really looking into that school," Blue said. Bieniemy, the Buffaloes' offensive coordinator, has coached quite a few famous backs over the years, at UCLA with former Bruin and current Jacksonville Jaguar Maurice Jones-Drew and Adrian Peterson with the Minnesota Vikings. "I've had a conversation with him and he sounds good and he's telling me what to do, and he's telling me just to keep focused," Blue said. In addition to Colorado, the junior has been hearing interest from schools like San Diego State, Oregon, Oregon State. The two-way player hasn't taken any visits anywhere yet, but he plans to by the end of the year. He went to the Under Armour Camp and a passing tournament at SDSU over the summer. Schools have told Blue they want him on defense, and that's fine with him. "Whatever they want me to play. I'm a two-way player," he said. I think I'm going to go to defense [at] safety. That's what I want to be." Okay so we know what he wants to be. But what about where? "I just want to be somewhere where I can help and just doesn't matter where. Whoever is willing to help me out, I'm going to help them out. "I'm really happy to hear from Colorado the most." Keeping it in the Bishop Amat family seems a likely possibility with Blue, as long as Bieliemy is in the picture. "Hopefully I'll be there, I'll be a Buffalo. Not just because [Bieliemy] is a fellow Bishop Amat player but just because he's a great man."
