First the presentation of the colors was performed. Then the national anthem was performed. Next up was the announcement of the three student athletes that were ready to sign.

Coach Minton praised the senior class of athletes as being one of the best in his years at Wayne. He then introduced each of the athletes.

From the Warrior Volleyball program was Sara Bochenek. Sara will be playing volleyball for Sinclair University next fall.

From the Warrior Soccer program was Amanda Jay. Amanda will be playing soccer for Shawnee State University.

From the Warrior Football program was Marcus Freeman. Marcus will be playing football for The Ohio State University.

Next the parents stood behind each of the student athletes as they signed their letters of intent. Then each athlete spoke to their peers. Up first was Marcus Freeman.

Marcus first thanked God, and thanked his family, coaches, teachers and his fellow students. He then wished Sara and Amanda the best. Marcus also spoke about the other players who didn't sign today, but will very soon. He then spoke about what its been like since he left Wayne and entered Ohio State. He stressed that college is about academics and not just a social life.

Up next was Sara Bochenek. Sara thanked her parents, friends, and teammates from the volleyball team. She also wished Marcus and Amanda the best in college.

Then Amanda Jay took the mike, she thanked Coach Smith of Shawnee State for giving her a chance at the next level. She also thanked her soccer teammates, her parents and family and all the coaches she has ever had playing soccer.

The event was over and with more athletes yet to sign, more announcements will be made in the days ahead.
