Brandon Harris, the 5-foot-10, 175-pound, four-star cornerback from Booker T. Washington High School in Miami, Fla., has 30 scholarship offers, but no single leader.
"I'll narrow it down before August and I'll make my decision in November," Harris said. "I'm graduating in December and will be enrolling in college in January."
Although Harris denies a leader, he said favors Miami, Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma, LSU and Rutgers. All of his favorites have offered, plus several others. "I like coach Randy Shannon at Miami a lot," he said. "He's put together a great staff and I love how competitive they all are. They are always trying to get better and really want to win."
Harris, ranked No. 44 in the Southeast by Scout.com, already attended the camp at Miami and Florida International and will be attending the Friday Night Lights camp at Florida next week.
"I'm looking to build a relationship with each of the coaches and want to base my decision on the coaching staff," he said. "I like a coach that is very active and involved and pushes you to be your best. I don't like coaches that are too laid-back. I also want a good environment."
The only school that Harris has already visited is Miami, but hopes to take several official trips in the fall.
"Ohio State has been the most exciting team to watch in college for the past few years. They produce NFL athletes," Harris said.
"LSU is a national powerhouse and are always in it every year," he said. "They probably have the best defensive backs in college football.
"Oklahoma is recruiting me for defensive back and their head coach (Bob Stoops) is defense-minded," Harris said.
Harris used to list USC in his top five, but says the Trojans are no longer recruiting him. "They aren't really on me as hard as the others," Harris admitted. "They were after me real hard during the spring, but they kind of backed off. I haven't heard from them in like two months."
He reports a 3.6 core GPA, 880 SAT and 20 ACT.
