The recruiting process has evolved in such a way that recruits are feeling more pressure to commit early. Slots are limited and they fill up fast. Even unofficial visits have become big deals. Often starry-eyed, prospects make decisions in the heat of the moment, and there is usually an absence of adult guidance, a level of objectivity and reason. The result is sometimes instability.
