Anderson Russell rushed for 758 yards and scored 14 touchdowns on 90 carries as a senior in an option offense. He was also Marist's leading receiver with seven catches for 171 yards and three touchdowns. As a junior, he rushed for 573 yards and 11 touchdowns on only 100 attempts in an option offense. He also competed on the diamond as a prep baseball player. Chose Ohio State over Duke.
Coach's Comments: "Anderson is a punishing running back," said Head Coach Alan Chadwick. "He's big and strong with good potential. Anderson combines good quickness with good speed."
Scouting Report: Anderson Russell runs with good power and determination. He is an unselfish player who puts the needs of the team first. Russell could get a look at safety but will most likely project as a running back.
