| Biography: |
As a senior Mathis recorded 85 tackles, 24 tackles for a loss, three sacks, caused three fumbles, and recovered two fumbles. Led his team with 88 tackles as a junior despite missing parts of two games. He had 2.5 sacks and caused two fumbles. Mathis was voted to the second team all-state. Mathis also runs 400m on the track team. He carries a 3.0 GPA and has scored a 790 SAT.
Scouting Report: Mathis plays in the perfect defense for him in high school. Playing in a stack formation, Mathis has a great ability to flow freely to either side of the field and use his amazing burst to the ball to make the tackle. Able to shed blockers when needed, and willing to gamble for a tackle behind the line of scrimmage. Heady player that can read a play quickly.
