| In his first twelve games of his senior year Hayes recorded 115 tackles, 12 sacks and four caused fumbles. He is considered one the top pass-rushers in the Southeast. As a junior, he was third in the state with quarterback sacks (18 ½) by earning a spot on the class 2A all-state and all-big-bend team.
Coach's Comments:
"Eugene sees the field so well," said Madison County Head Coach Frankie Carroll. "He finds a way to get to the ball and has great instincts."
Scouting Report:Hayes is an explosive defensive player that can come off the edge and rush the passer, stuff the run or play the pass. He is quick to the quarterback and is a tremendous pass rusher. Hayes has super north-south speed and can really move well laterally. He can chase you down or fight off blocks to get to the ball. Hayes reads and recognizes the play very quickly and he’s a very instinctual player. He’s also very athletic and a big time hitter.
