J. D. will be a three year starter this upcoming season. As a junior, he caught 65 passes for 936 yards and 6 TD's.

Lawhorn was named 1st Team All-State (Division 11) and 1st Team All-State by TSAA (Tennessee Sportswriters Association) for his play on the field. J. D. was also a repeat All-Metro selection for the Commercial Appeal.
In track, J. D. was the Division II West Sectional 110 Hurdles Champion and Division II's West Sectional Decathlon Runner-Up. For his performances on the track, Lawhorn was selected to the Best of Preps All-Metro Track Team. |
