As a redshirt freshman Booker backed up Greg Jones at tailback along with Leon Washington… redshirted in his first year after coming to Florida State as one of the top tailback prospects in the nation…a shifty back with excellent quickness…drew comparisons to Warrick Dunn because of his ability to run and catch the pass. backfield As a freshman Booker, rushed for 343 yards on 63 carries and three touchdowns. His longest run of the year was 71 yards.
High School: Regarded as the nation’s top prospect at tailback...named a Parade All-American and to the PrepStar Dream Team...top-rated running back in the nation according to Parade......earned USA Today All-USA First Team honors as a senior...No. 1 rated running back in the nation according to The Insiders.com...Tom Lemming’s No. 3 overall prospect and No. 2 running back in the country...ran for 2,878 yards and 50 touchdowns as a senior...added 16 receptions for 300 yards and three scores...rushed for 3,103 yards and 49 touch-downs as a junior...earned Junior Player of the Year honors for the state of California...runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4...selected Florida State over Notre Dame, USC and Washington.
