2005: It sounds strange to say that your leading receiver had a down year in 04', but with McKnight's talent, he should have improved on his sophomore year numbers. He has the size, speed and skill to become a major problem for opposing defenses. He has the attitude you want in a WR. He's tough and goes up and gets the ball. Rhema is a playmaker...We expect the new staff to get the best out of McKnight and we think his reception numbers should be around 60. This would make McKnight the all-time leading receiver at Notre Dame, breaking Tom Gatewood's career reception mark of 157. McKnight should also end up in Notre Dame's top 5 leading receivers, in terms of yardage.
2004: For the second straight year, McKnight lead the team in receptions (42) and receiving yards (610). He caught a 54-yard TD pass in the opener against BYU. Rhema had a season high 8 catches against BYU and a season high, 115 yards against Purdue.
2003: McKnight lead the Irish in receiving with 47 receptions and yardage (600), as he turned into the go to WR for Brady Quinn. He started 8 games and played in all 12. He made a couple key recpts against WSU and made his first career TD reception. He had a career best 9 catches for 171 yards and a TD against Purdue.
2002: Played early and often, seeing action in 12 of the 13 games in 02'. Caught 2 passes against Maryland in the first game of the year.
High School: Ranked as the #2 WR by Insiders. 28th player nationally by CNNSI.com and Student Sports, the 41st best player on The Sporting News Hot 101 list. Played QB and WR where he caught 20 passes for 395 yards and 4 TDs...rushed for 1,483 yards and 21 TDs as senior. Caught 62 passes for 1,142 yards and 15 TDs as a junior WR. Final Schools: Florida, Oregon, UCLA, Washington
