Biography:

2005: Zbikowski is a very good athlete...above average speed and instinctive. He's very solid against the run, and a big hitter. He had some difficulty adjusting in coverage and missed some assignments, but he should be fine with additional reps during the spring and fall. Some fans have talked about him moving to corner, but he does not have corner speed or coverage ability…he’s best suited for strong safety. This is a guy that will get better with time and we expect him to take his game to the next level this year.

2004: Zbikowski settled in as the starter at strong safety and started all 12 games. He was #4 on the team in tackles (70). He had his first career interception, forced fumble, recovered fumble and touchdown…in one game (MSU). In that game he stripped the MSU RB of the ball and returned it 75 yards for a TD. His INT was turned into a TD by the Irish offense, and he forced a fumble late in the game right after the Irish offense had fumbled it to MSU. He also added a season high 9 tackles. He had a very good game against Tennessee with 7 tackles and had 8 against Navy.

2003: Did not see action as a freshman safety.

High School: Insiders ranked him #6 safety prospect. Played defensive back in U.S. Army All-America game. USA Today 1st team All-American. Chicago area player of the year by Chicago Sun-Times. Rated 29th in ESPN top 100 . . . threw for 1,382 yards and 11 TDs, rushed for 1,287 yards and 23 TDs... Made 41 tackles and 3 INTs as a senior safety. A nationally ranked boxer who has competed in Golden Gloves program since he was age nine, achieving 60-13 amateur record. a Silver Gloves national finalist in 1998, '99 and '00. Participated in track.
