| Biography: |
| In the model of Eddie George, Rio Mesa (Calif.) running back Malachi Lewis proved that the backfield is his future destination with a solid junior season that saw him rush for 2,187 yards and 24 touchdowns. Also could split out to receiver or play linebacker, but with his size and speed, would make a prototypical power back.
Final senior (10-2) stats: 1500 yards rushing and 30 TDs; Lewis also had 20 receptions for another three scores.
Lewis benches 315 pounds, squats 400 and has a 33-inch vertical jump. "I want to get stronger and more explosive," Lewis said. "I've never really lifted weights, so that's what I plan to focus on."
"I can do it all," Lewis said. "I'm bigger and faster than most guys. I have great speed and am very versatile."
Lewis reports a 3.0 core GPA and a 19 ACT.
