| Mays is arguably the best pure athlete on the entire west coast, having run a 10.5 100 this spring before injuring a hamstring. That being said, his toughness will be tested at the next level. He could turn into an enforcer-type free safety, but might be best utilized as a deep threat WR. |
| Biography: |
| Final JR (8-3) stats: 89 tackles/5 interceptions; 25 catches/514 yds/7 TDs; 3 punt return TDs; Bench: 315/Squat: 505/Power Clean: 315/Vert Jump: 37.5"
Mays reports 3.4/1200 (old version)--"I'm totally qualified."
Mays: "I've got great speed and I'm able to move well for my size. That's an advantage when I'm matching up against other players on offense or defense. I also use my size down field real well too. I'd like to work on my footwork and quickness because I'm so tall.
"I also want to play wide receiver and my favorites all said I could. Coaches think I'm a better defensive back because my combination of size and speed is more helpful on defense, I think. I'm a big safety who can match-up on bigger wide receivers. There aren't many big safeties that move as well as me. But I want to play offense to, because I can.
