| Na'Derris is a big target that needs to utilize his size a little more when running a pattern. But when it comes to leading on a run, it's a strength. Concentration is a key. Definitely could be a true two-way threat given some time. |
| Biography: |
| As a junior (9-4 record), he had 20 receptions for 450 yards and five touchdowns. On special teams, he had 15 tackles and three forced fumbles. Ward was named first team all-city and all-East Bay. At the Cal summer camp last year, he was named the MVP of the tight ends; Bench: 275/Squat: 495/Vert Jump: 30"
Ward: "I'm a team role player and I get very physical on the field. I'll also do whatever a coach needs me to do. I am a good listener. I am a great blocker and a team player. I'll make plays if I have to or make a big block if I have to. I'll just do whatever it takes to win. I've got really good speed for my position and I've also got great awareness.
"I want to definitely work on getting yards after the catch this season. I'm really not satisfied with that yet. I also want to work on keeping my eye on the ball until I've got full possession of it, then run with it.
"I have a nice work ethic and good hands. The main thing I want to work on is getting my speed up."
Coach's Comments: McClymonds head coach Alonzo Carter says of Ward, "He is a blue chip guy. Him and Joshua Tatum are cousins so it is great that they can push each other and make one another live up to the potential they have. They are both great players that I think can make it big on the next level." |
