| Moved up to the varsity during his sophomore year for the state play-offs. Plays inside backer for the Huskies but projects as a sam backer at the next level. An all-conference and all-area selection as a junior (10-1 season). Tongo had 60 solo tackles, 4 caused fumbles and 2 sacks as a junior; Bench: 270/Squat: 455/Power Clean: 270/Vert Jump: 34"
Tongo reports a 3.6 GPA/26 ACT--no retake.
Tongo - "I'm an aggressive linebacker with good closing speed. I also have good speed and I have the ability to read and react to the play.
"And I've got a good positive attitude on the field and a good motor. I also have some good leadership qualities and I'm a student of the game. I want to be more mentally ready in games this season and just know plays before they happen."
Coaches Comments - "Osahon is the real deal. He was 6-1, 195 at the start of his junior season but he hit a growth spurt. Tongo loves to bring it if you know what I mean. When he hits the ball carrier you can see their head fly back, that's what type of player he is. He's going to be a 230-pound linebacker in college. Probably a sam linebacker." |
