| Is excellent in pass-protection and has very good technique. Once he engages a defensive end, he usually halts the pass rush. Could be a little quicker. Also uses his smarts to challenge the pass rush. |
| Biography: |
| Quite possibly the best lineman in California in the class of 2006, DeMartinis was one of three juniors on the 2005 All-CIF First Team, and was an all-state first team selection as well, helping Notre Dame to a 13-1 record. Was also named to the All-CIF team, one of only four juniors selected to the team. Also named League Lineman of the Year. DeMartinis carries a 3.0 GPA and is scheduled to take the SAT on April 1. He bench presses 340 pounds, squats 500 and power cleans 250.
DeMartinis reports a 3.0 core GPA and 1520 SAT and a 21 ACT score
At the U.S. Army All-American Combine, showed why he will be one of most recruited lineman in the West this year. Older brother Tony plays at San Diego State.
Notre Dame HS line coach Thane Watkins' comments:
"Plays whistle to whistle every single down. Very athletic & rangy. An excellent knee bender. You look at his frame from his junior year and wouldn't think he's as good a run blocker as he is a pass protector, then you see him drive the guy in front of him 20 yards down field and plant him. Upside, upside, upside. He gets bigger and stronger every day. Sam will be a dominant college offensive lineman"
