| Oglesby is a dominant run blocker in a run oriented offense. It's not that he is not a good pass blocker, it is that he just does not get enough reps in his teams system. Oglesby has a tremendous frame and outstanding feet for such a large player. |
| Biography: |
Josh Oglesby will be one of the most sought after prospects in the nation in 2006. He will be a three-year varsity starter as a senior. Oglesby was named all-league as a sophomore and this past year he earned junior All-America honors as well as several all-state honors. In the three games Oglesby played defense, he had 22 tackles and five sacks.
Oglesby reports a 3.0 core GPA/June first time ACT.
Oglesby: "I'm a hard worker. I feel I need to perform everyday. I need to prove to myself and everyone else that I'm deserving of all the accolades I've been given. I don't ever want to get to the point where someone might say I didn't earn anything. That's why I work so hard. As a leader, I feel it's important to know everybody on the team and not just the guys I play with. I feel I dominate when it comes to run blocking because we run the ball 98% of the time so I really want to work on my pass blocking during the spring and summer."
Coach's Comments - "Great kid, great student. I really think Josh's best football is ahead of him. He's already a great football player but he's going to get bigger and stronger once he gets into a college atmosphere. Josh has great feet, his hip explosion and knee bend are tremendous and he finishes his blocks." -- Doug Sarver
