| As a sophomore, Victor Johnson recorded 129 total tackles with 70 coming in the solo variety. He was also very busy creating turnovers in the secondary. Johnson forced four fumbles and had two interceptions; benches 230 pounds and squats 320.
For his performance, He earned Newcomer of the Year honors and the Red Heart Award which is given to the defensive player who plays their heart out throughout the entire season.
Final (9-2) senior stats: 65 tackles and one interception
Johnson: "I can get to the ball fast. I'm good at reading the offense and I know what to do. I also cover pretty good and am a solid tackler. I can hit hard, but I really want to get more interceptions. I want to go up for the ball more."
Rated as the No. 2 prospect in Central Texas in 2008 by Texas Prep Insider.
