Ht: 6-5 Wt: 285
Position: OT, OG
Birthplace: Albuquerque,  NM
Class: Freshman
High School: Lakewood Ranch HS
(Bradenton, FL)
College: Tulane

Biography:
May be physically advanced enough as a true freshman to push for playing time in preseason camp

Earned honorable mention status on the 5A All-State team as a senior. Named first team All-Manatee County. Chosen to represent Manatee County in the Pal Bowl Game. Also tabbed for the Florida-New Jersey All-Star game.

A three-year starter, including every game of the 2003 and 2004 seasons, Tyler started for Lakewood Ranch for only five games of his sophomore season because of injuries and gained a lot of playing experience. Rice started off at left tackle, but moved over to right tackle in 2003.

Named 2nd Team All-Area for his play in the 2003 campaign. Played both ways for the Ranch in 2004.
