| During his 2007 senior season, had 94 tackles, six forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, five sacks and four deflections and was named Tri-County Conference Player of the Year and SacBee All-Metro. Earned all-CIF SacJoaquin Section honors. Was selected to play in the Blitz 3 All-Star Game.
Had 60 tackles and three sacks in 2006 for Inderkum HS in Sacramento. 2006 League Lineman of the Year, First Team All-Tri-County Conference and Second Team Metro All-City. Second-team All-League as a sophomore. Named Defensive Lineman MVP at Cal's camp in 2007.
Defensive MVP at Cal-Berkeley's summer camp in 2006, as well as a standout performer at both Stanford and USC football camps; Grimes benches 350 pounds, squats 510 and power cleans 315.
