| Barnes supports the run very well. He has the size and speed and plays with a linebacker mentality. In pass coverage he can play the safety position like a center fielder. The bottom line is that Barnes makes plays as either a safety or wide receiver. He covers a ton of ground with his good speed and plays in coverage very effectively. As a receiver he is a big play threat, especially deep. He has good body control, concentration and hands. |
| Biography: |
| As a safety, Barnes made 80 tackles to go with five interceptions (1 returned for a 65 yard TD during high school championship game) and 19 pass breakups in his junior year. He also had 26 catches for 545 yards and 5 touchdowns on offense. Named All-Area and All-Region for his efforts; Barnes benches 225, squats 380 and has a 33" vertical jump.
He refuses to disclose his core GPA and took his ACT on June 10.
