| Great size and every bit of 6-5/230, though he may have some trouble adding weight in college. Could still be very effective at 245 or so. Does have a tendency to play high as he gets tired and footwork is erratic, but his hands are big, fast, and strong and has long arms. Certainly more of a quick pass rusher than run stopper. Would project more to weakside defensive end in college. |

Matthews made 66 tackles and even two interceptions on defense in addition to 17 catches for 210 yards on offense as a junior.
Player Comments: "I come with a lot of confidence every game and just play the best that I can play. My strength is my speed and my quickness to get to the quarterback, but I need to keep working in the weight room. When I get into the weight room, nobody can stop me." |
