| Akeem is a versatile athlete who could easily play on both sides of the ball. He's a bit undersized for defensive end and might not possess the speed to be a wide receiver, so linebacker is his likely position in college. |

| Named the CIF Mid-Valley Division Defensive Player of the Year after leading Verbum Dei to the CIF Sectional title.
A pass-rusher from the same high school that produced Vikings DL Kenechi Udeze from USC, Ayers had an outstanding junior season (9-3 record), recording 116 tackles and 23 sacks, including one game with five and another with four, and had a sack in each of Verbum Dei's 12 games. Also had five recovered fumbles and on offense had 19 catches for 441 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Ayers reports a 2.8 core GPA/June 3 first-time SAT.
Ayers: “My strength is rushing the passer. I’m like a bull on the field…I never give up. I need to work on my coverage. As I linebacker, I have to be able to keep up with the running back coming out of the backfield.”
