| As a senior, Barksdale recorded 73 tackles, including 17 for loss, 14 hurries, seven sacks, one INT (returned for a TD) and forced three fumbles. he was named to the Detroit News "Dream Team".
Final junior season stats: 83 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles, eight sacks, 10 fumble recoveries and two deflected passes; Named all-city and honorable mention all-state.
Final senior season stats (7-4): 73 tackles/27 tackles for loss/8 sacks/3 fumbles caused/1 fumble recovered and 1 interception for touchdown.
Barksdale, who intends to graduate early, reports a 3.5 core GPA and 22 ACT--no retake planned.
Barksdale: "One of my biggest strengths is tenacity--my coach says I have a motor. I always have the first step off the ball and I always come really fast and really hard. I have good instincts to know where the ball is going to be and where the players have gone. There is always room for improvement in these areas, and I have to remember not to let it go to my head. Football is my job--everyday, all day."
