| Burns is an electrifying quarterback that can beat you with his arm and legs. He is ultra quick in the pocket and virtually impossible to stop in a one on one situation. Burns is the type of quarterback that can put so much pressure on a defense because of his ability to make a play outside of the pocket. He is also a good passer that shows all the throws. Burns is a "Michael Vick" type of signal caller and very exciting to watch. |
| Biography: |
| Career: Burns was a three-year starting quarterback for coach Darrell Henry where he accounted for more than 8,700 yards passing and rushing as a dual-threat quarterback. Henry, who installed a shotgun one-back offense to suit Burns, compares the young talent to the likes of Jason Campbell and Vince Young.
Junior Stats:
Burns accounted for 31 touchdowns by completing 134-of-277 passing for 2,182 yards and 20 touchdowns and rushing for 965 yards and another 11 scores.
Soph. Stats:
He was 129-of-228 for 1,935 yards and 21 touchdowns while rushing for 881 yards and five more scores.
Coach Darrell Henry Comments: "It looks like he is playing a video game out there. The game just slows down for him as it does for all the great ones. And of course he can throw the football 74 yards, and the top NFL guy just threw it 72. He's going to be a great one. He's worthy of all the hype he is going to get." |
