| Mullins is a sure tackler and had a more productive season than Ohio State-bound teammate Mark Johnson. Moves well laterally and is an aggressive backer. His size is a concern and he's recovering from hip surgery. |
| Biography: |
| One of the top linebackers in the City Section, Mullins teamed with Ohio State-bound Mark Johnson to give Dorsey the best linebacking corp in Southern California. During his junior season set the all-time Dorsey record with 165 tackles, adding five sacks, and a pair of interceptions (one returned for a touchdown).
Mullins injured his left hip during his junior season, but continued to play. He had surgery to fix his torn cartilage about 10 weeks ago and will be in rehab for at least two months.
He reports a 3.4 core GPA and a 1370 (new version) SAT, 17 ACT.
Mullins: "I push myself and think I'm a good tackler. I can run down ball carriers and can engage linemen. I have good technique and am a well-rounded player. I need to get heavier and improve my drops. I want to take on and over power bigger players." |
