| As a junior, he had 40 receptions for 350 yards and four touchdowns from his tight end position and added 30 solo tackles and four sacks from his defensive end spot. Brooks was named first team all-league and the offensive player of the year. He was also named honorable mention all-area.
Final senior season (9-3) stats: 5 rec/72 yards; 15 tackles/3 sacks.
Brooks reports a 2.6 core GPA and a 750 SAT (new version, math and verbal only), which he is retaking in February. "I have a tutor for the SAT and I'm going to set up my retake soon," Brooks said. "I should be fine and I can still take it a few more times."
Brooks: "I am good at route-running and getting open. I'm a good overall receiver. The main thing I want to work on is improving my blocking.
"I'm like a Dominique Byrd because we're similar size and we can make or break the offense. I still want to improve my blocking skills and work on my hands and catching. I prefer playing tight end. It's my favorite position because I like having the ball and I like to block too."
