| Has a defensive end mentality when playing tight end, playing very tough with a nasty streak. Can block very well and has ideal size. Needs to be consistent in catching every pass and concentrating on making the reception. |

| Had 8 catches for 180 yards as a tight end despite playing behind Oregon State-signee John Reese. Had a good year at defensive end, tallying 50 tackles and three sacks. Likely projects to tight end in college, but could also play defensive end, too.
Mahina squats 415, bench presses 305 and vertically jumps 30”.
Final senior season (6-4) stats: 25 receptions/approximately 400 yards and 4 TDs; 52 tackles/6 sacks
He reports a 3.0 core GPA and a 1200/2400 SAT.
Mahina: "I have good footwork, speed and hands for the position (tight end). I am a good blocker and I have a good first step. I explode off the ball.
“My best strength is my awareness. Sometimes I can read plays before they happen. As always, I definitely want to improve my speed." |
