| While he needs to work on catching the ball better out of the backfield and become more consistent as a blocker, Shaw has good field vision and the type of breakaway speed that running backs need. |
| Biography: |
| Rushed for 1,653 yards on 212 carries and scored 21 touchdowns during his 2005 junior season at Stockton (Calif.) Lincoln. Also added six receptions for 102 yards for the Trojans. Did the punting as well for Lincoln, averaging 46 yards a punt. Three times rushed for over 200 yards and also added a 5-touchdown performance. Was an all-Area selection in 2005 and also was one of the top 20 sprinters in California.
Shaw finished his senior season (9-4) with 167 carries for 1733 yards and 26 touchdowns.
He reports a 2.4 core GPA and a 66 ACT and 750 SAT. Shaw is retaking the SAT on December 2. "I'll be able to pass it in time," Shaw said. "I have a tutor now and I'm going to take it again next year too."
Curtis Shaw: "I have great vision and am able to see the field well," Shaw said. "I have a good sense of direction and timing and know what to do and when to do it. I'm also not a selfish player and don't need the ball all the time. I still want to improve my blocking skills. Also, I want to work on my hands and catch better in the backfield." |
