| Offensive Line/Tackles; Tight Ends Coach
Coaching Accomplishments
- Possesses 21 years of coaching experience, has been part of six bowl games and a member of three coaching staffs that have won conference championships.
- Worked with the tight ends and heavily instructed the UF special teams corps in 2005. The unit ranked ninth nationally in net punting (38.1 per punt), while the Gators' punt return defense was the best in school history and the second-best nationally allowing 3.3 per return.
- Florida blocked five kicks in 2005, tied for the third-highest total in school history since UF records began being kept in 1978.
- The Gator special teams scored 19 points. In the Mississippi State game, Terrence Holmes recovered a blocked punt by Dee Webb in the end zone for the team's first score off a blocked kick since 1999. Against South Carolina, Florida scored its second defensive extra point in school history when Webb returned a blocked PAT for two points. In the Florida State game, Reggie Lewis returned a blocked field goal 52 yards for a TD (in research dating back to 1979, the Gators had not accomplished the feat). In the Outback Bowl against Iowa, Tremaine McCollum recovered and returned the first blocked punt for a touchdown in a bowl game by Florida.
- Addazio went to Indiana after spending the previous three seasons at the University of Notre Dame, where he served as the offensive line, tight ends and special teams coach between 1999-2001.
- Prior to his tenure at Notre Dame, Addazio served on the staff at Syracuse University for four seasons (1995-98). The Orange won three-straight Big East crowns during Addazio's four seasons and appeared in four bowl games.
- Prior to Addazio's Division I collegiate coaching career, he served as one of the nation's top high school coaches at Cheshire High School in Cheshire, Conn. He placed over 20 student-athletes in Division I-A, I-AA, II, and III programs in his seven years. His teams were nationally ranked in both 1992 and 1994. During one stretch, his club won 34 consecutive games, the second-longest string in the nation. His teams also won three state titles in a row.
- Addazio began his coaching career at Western Connecticut State University, where he served as an assistant coach under Paul Pasqualoni from 1984-87. The Colonials claimed the New England Football Conference title in 1985 and advanced to the NCAA Division III playoffs for the first time in school history.
